Time to Talk About Men’s Mental Health Event in collaboration with The Colte Partnership
Join us for a morning of open conversation, support, and shared experiences. Our Time to Talk event aims to create a space to share, learn, and gain practical tools to support men’s mental health and wellbeing. Whether you’re a man looking for support, a healthcare professional, or someone wanting to understand more about how to help the men in your life, this event is for you.
What to Expect:
- Inspiring Guest Speakers sharing personal stories and expertise in mental health.
- Resources and Information to support your mental health, and learn about services available in our community.
- Opportunities to Connect with local organisations supporting men’s mental health.
- Promoting the North East Essex Sanctuary Service – a valuable local resource for mental health support.
Key Speakers:
- Shawn Leek – The Mental Health Runner. A long-time runner of various distances from 5k through to ultra-running including 7 Marathons in 7 Days which he completed in 2015. Shawn is a mental health advocate who has previously battled with his mental health and hopes to inspire others to keep looking after their mind and body.
- Ezra Hewing – Head of Education, Suffolk Mind Ezra Hewing is Head of Education at Suffolk Mind and a Human Givens Therapist. Since joining Suffolk Mind in 2009, he has their wellbeing service, training frontline mental health workers, doctors, nurses, substance abuse workers, members of the emergency services and heads of organisations, amongst others, in how best to understand and support emotionally healthy workplaces. He holds an MSc in the psychology and neuroscience of mental health from the internationally renowned Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience, King’s College, London, where he researched REM sleep and mental ill health, with a focus on the symptoms of schizophrenia.
